Legions of the Unforgiven
Step 6 - Completing the sculpting :

Once that is complete,  you can glue in the backpack and helmet. Remember to put a cowl on head of your hero and you are almost done.

To add additional flavor (and to allow my character to shoot at all) I've added a bolter attached with chains to the backpack. (good advise, if you are married, ask before you cut your wife's necklace) The best source of chains should be cheap fake jevelry. Glue it with super glue, hiding the ends under the backpack. Using the same technique we used for robes to sculpt your banner and we are done with the modeling.

Now all you have to do is to paint the model.

Sculpting a Dark Angel Hero: Initial concepts and Thought Process

Dark Angels in my mind always resembled mediaeval crusaders- to be exact German knights of Holy Virgin Mary- all the cowls, monkish robes... Unfortunately GW does not seem to share this thought so I've been forced to convert my figurines by myself. The one from the latest is 4th company hero with double handed sword.
